CV - Biography:

Santander - 1980

Urban artist Okuda holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since his beginnings in 1997, his works on railway lines and in abandoned factories in his hometown have been instantly recognizable. Alongside his street interventions, Okuda also began creating more intimate works in his studio, and from 2009 onwards his practice evolved towards a more personal artistic language. Geometric structures and multicoloured patterns merge with grey bodies and organic forms in artworks that can be described as Pop Surrealism with a strong urban essence.

His work often explores contradictions surrounding existentialism, the universe, infinity, the meaning of life, and the false freedom of capitalism, revealing a clear conflict between modernity and our roots; ultimately, between human beings and themselves. His works can be found in streets and galleries around the world, including India, Mali, Mozambique, the United States, Japan, Chile, Brazil, Peru, South Africa, Mexico, and across Europe.
