CV - Biography:

Madrid - 1978

He began working with the wrought iron in 1999 together with Martín Chirino, from whom he not only learned the technique and sculptural conception, but also helped him discover new paths in his plastic creation. In that same year he created together with other artists the “Group 99”, in which manifesto exalt “the traditional values of art” in which it is a confusing moment for the sector.

He continued his training at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University with a degree and a Diploma in Advanced Studies and, thanks to a scholarship from the Madrid university, at the Camberwell College of Arts of the London Insitute (1999-2000). Throughout his career his work has also contributed scholarships to the Ministry of Culture of Luxembourg (2001), the Elsa Peretti Foundation of Girona (2002) and the Hong Hac Dai Lai JSC of the Flamingo Group of Vietnam (2017).

Albert’s production revolves around the work with iron and steel cutting, modeling them in such a way that his pieces almost come to life, in a continuous search for movement, explorations of space and geometry, and reflections between the object and the void. Although his practice is firmly rooted within abstraction, he is considered a very traditional artist who is guided by classical canons and gives great importance to drawing and composition. In his most recent stage, the incorporation of colour as an additional tool that reinforces the contrast between the volumes and is positioned as a hallmark of his work.
